Position:Limited Term Administrative Assistant for Children and Youth
Part Time. Approximately 10 - 15 hours per week through May 2020. Hours are flexible as workload demands. Compensation commensurate with experience. No benefits are available at this time. Reports to the Director of Children’s Ministries.
This position is designed to bring organization, professionalism, and excellence to enhance the Children and Youth Ministries of All Saints’ Episcopal Church, which include more than 500 children and teens in close to 300 families. This position will assist in executing and implementing the work of the Children’s and Youth Task Force for the 2019-2020 school year.
Procuring and preparing materials for weekly programming (i.e. making copies, gathering supplies and snacks, creating bulletin boards, organizing craft materials and printouts, assembling safeguarding course binders, etc…) (4 Hours)
Processing attendance and registration information for Sundays, Wednesdays, and special events, and assisting the children’s and youth staff in the organization and maintenance of our youth, children, and volunteer rolls and databases, in conjunction with the parish Membership Coordinator.(3 Hours)
Assist in volunteer coordination and parent communications. (3 Hours)
Assist in preparation, planning, and logistics for special events and activities as assigned, and coordinate with outside groups seeking to use the youth ministry center.(3 Hours)
Take an active role in organizing the children’s and youth ministry spaces (1 Hour)
Attend and collaborate on weekly area team meetings, currently on Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. during the school year.(1 Hour)
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and Qualities Required:
Ability to drive as needed to run errands such as picking up supplies
Basic computer skills, including competency basic applications such a Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Ability to organize events and meetings
Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality
Ability to professionally and communicate with staff, volunteers, and parishioners
Ability to work as a team player
Bachelor’s or Associates degree (or in progress) preferred
